Baby Griffin is here!!!!!!! We had to have a c-section, but he's here safe and I'm doing good (although the epidural is still in so I'll update again tomorrow). I'll post a birth story and more pictures tomorrow sometime. We'll be in the hospital until Saturday probably, but luckily we have wi-fi and a laptop.

3pm and no baby in sight

It's 3pm and we're no closer to having Griffin here than we were this morning. Everytime the Pitocin gets above 6 or 8 his heart rate starts to decelerate towards the end of my contractions. We're waiting on the doctor to come in and give us our options.

Caroline's Day

So Caroline and I are heading off for another fun day. We're going to lunch at McDonald's, then to get her hair cut, then to get a manicure/pedicure for me and to get her nails/toes painted. Hopefully we'll have some time this afternoon to play around and get the final things done around the house. We're going to take Caroline to dinner somewhere nice and then take her to Grammy and Gramps house for the time we're in the hospital. I expect her to spend TONS of time with us at the hospital and we would LOVE it if she could stay over night with us, but I don't think that will be possible. She's looking so forward to baby Griffin's arrival and was running around this morning yelling "Griffin's coming tomorrow! Griffin's coming tomorrow!"

Last Doctor's Appointment

I had my last doctor's appointment this morning and I'm dialated to 3cm. So if I don't go into labor tonight or tomorrow I'll be going in Wednesday morning at 7am for an induction. With Caroline I was not dialated at all when they started the induction around 9:30 or 10am and she arrived at 5:36pm so I'm hoping it will be much shorter this time around since I'm starting a little further along. My guess is he'll be about 8.5 lbs and 20 inches long so we'll see how close I am sometime before Wednesday night. I'll post an update with pictures as soon as possible at the hospital or I'll have Matt do it.

Griffin's Possible Birthday

I went to my standard 36 week appointment this past Wednesday and it was time to set up an induction date in case he doesn't decide to come on his own. My choices were the 9th (39w3d) or the 16th (40w3d) and once I found out my OB would be out of town the 10th-14th it made the decision pretty easy since with my luck I'd go into labor when she was out of town. So if Griffin doesn't decide to arrive before then he will arrive on July 9th. The great news is it looks like I'm going to get off without bedrest this pregnancy. My blood pressure has been great and steady. The OB see's no reason it should spike this late in the game, but there's always a slight chance. So everything looks good and we'll have a baby in at least 19 days, if not sooner.

Caroline's 5 Year Pictures

 
 
 

August will be a big month for us with a newborn, Caroline's party and getting ready for her to start school so I wanted to make sure to get Caroline's 5 yr portraits done. Last Thursday we met Matt and headed down to Deep Ellum. Unfortunetly, it was extra hot and we were there a bit too early for the prime light, but I got a few I like. Hopefully we will go back sometime when it's cooler and we can plan to hit at the time for the prime light. Hope you enjoy.
